When I was growing up I dreamed of being a professional athlete, firefighter, entrepreneur, home builder and a famous Hollywood star. When I realized that I wasn’t going to be the next Cal Ripken or Michael Jordan, I thought I wanted to be a doctor. Ultimately, I found myself learning about growing companies as a strategy consultant.
As I grew older, my passion for helping others never wavered. I remained involved with alumni councils, helped lead class reunions, and served as a mentor to others. But there was always a lingering thought in my mind – I can do more.
Over the years, friends and family battled cancer and I always felt helpless. During a conversation with friends in fashion, who are now my co-founders, we wondered if we could use fashion to inspire patients undergoing long-term medical treatment. We brainstormed how we could use their skills in design and manufacturing to create support, comfort, protection and hope for patients undergoing treatments. We began with a simple concept – an arm band for patients with PICC lines and Care + Wear was born.
Given the focus on helping others – we reached out to partner with the industry’s leading foundations. We are proud to call the American Cancer Society, F Cancer, the Tyler Robinson Foundation and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society partners in our dream to make life better for those undergoing long term medical treatments.
We reached out to patients, showed them our prototype and asked for their feedback. They inspired us with their stories and their desire to help the PICC line community.
We asked experienced people to join our team as advisors. They not only joined but have dedicated countless hours to helping us build the product and Company.
Today, we’re proud to announce the official launch of Care + Wear. We’ve created our first product, the Band, to help patients with PICC lines. With cutting-edge designs and features, we hope to be able to help support, comfort, protect and inspire patients with a unique line of products in the future.
While this is only the beginning – we couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity. So I invite you to join us on our journey.
Receiving long-term medical treatments is an arduous process that often can be debilitating and leave you weak and without hope. It’s about time that we did something to help patients and their families. So join us…
Buy a Band. Support a Cause.
