The Power of a Friend Who’s Also a Nurse
After I received some scan results, I reached out to my amazing friend, who’s a nurse. She immediately went out of her way to ask her colleagues for their opinions and recommendations. I decided to go to her hospital for the procedure I needed, and I’m so glad I did.
When she found out I would be in her unit, she requested to work that day, despite normally being off. On the day of the procedure, she wheeled me into the operating room and held my hand as I drifted off to sleep, making sure I felt safe and supported. After the procedure, she stopped by my recovery room several times to check on me and helped with my discharge, even though it was a busy day.
Throughout the weekend, she kept calling to see how I was doing, making sure I was on the mend. Her kindness truly turned what could’ve been a nerve-wracking experience into something much more manageable. I’m incredibly grateful for her support and love.
How Her Kindness Influenced My Recovery
The support and care from my nurse friend completely transformed my experience in the most positive way. She went above and beyond to ensure I understood exactly what was happening and to keep me comfortable. Knowing I had someone I trusted by my side made the whole situation feel far less overwhelming.
The Small Gestures That Made a Big Difference
I truly believe it was the little things my friend did that made a real difference—things she probably didn’t even realize were so impactful, but they came naturally to her caring personality. The check-ins, the way she held my hand, and her patience in answering all my questions, no matter how simple or silly, all showed how much she genuinely cared. That alone made me feel completely at ease
A Message of Gratitude
I always say that nurses are such special people, and this example truly highlights that. I am incredibly grateful not only to know one of these amazing nurses but also to call her my good friend. Thank you, Ciara, for your love, support, and friendship. Your patients are lucky to have you!
