Advocating for the AYA Cancer Community with Stupid Cancer
We are excited to announce Care+Wear’s partnership with Stupid Cancer, the leader in adolescent young adult (AYA) cancer. One of the reasons why Care+Wear is partnering with them is because we recognize the challenges the AYA community has. We are excited to talk about this partnership and collaborate with Stupid Cancer. They help to empower everyone affected by AYA cancer by ending isolation and building community. Their vision is that everyone in the AYA community is supported, understood, and accepted. You can learn more about Stupid Cancer and their mission here.
Each year 89,500 adolescents and young adults are diagnosed with cancer. Over the past 30 years, despite great improvements in cancer care, diagnosis and survival rates for AYAs has not improved. AYAs face a unique set of challenges, unlike those of their pediatric or adult counterparts, due to their cancer occurring during a crucial state of their personal and social development. Since its inception, Stupid Cancer has been able to provide resources to amplify the needs of the AYA community.
They have an array of online and in-person programming such as their annual conference, CancerCon, weekly Digital Meetups, Stories, and Webinars. To find out more about each of these, check out the tiles below.
Tune into our IG Live on Instagram this Thursday, April 15, at 3pm EST where we will be interviewing Alison Silberman, CEO of Stupid Cancer, on the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the AYA cancer community.
In addition, we will be giving back 15% of all sales from orders that use the code STUPIDCANCER15. You can shop our products through this link and remember to use the special code at checkout to help support Stupid Cancer's mission!
